What To Expect in a Life Group
Here are a few things that can help you join a Life Group. May we be better together!
No matter where you are, we all get to grow together in Christ in Life Groups! Whether the group goes through sermon-based questions, or a study, it will be rooted in God’s Word so that we may all be built up for God’s glory. The more we are sharpened, the more we can pour into the next generation and to those God puts in our life in holiness and strength.
A special part of Life Groups is that everyone commits to one another during their season meeting dates. The more consistent everyone in the group is, the more God can build trust, unity, and so much more goodness for the group!
You will meet at a reoccurring time and place for your small group as discussed by your group! A group is usually 12 people or less, but in some cases can expand beyond this amount.
There are groups for Men, Women, and Coed at different days/times of the week! Our Life Groups also have categories that are shown on each Life Group’s sign up page so you can see what season of life every group is directed for. We hope this helps you decide!
Groups vary on what they will study, but every group displays what they will be studying within the available information about the group before you ask to join.
We understand that sometimes, the group you are in ends up not being the “right fit”. Our encouragement in Christ is to continue the commitment through the meeting time period/semester and do your best to seek God’s direction and love for those you are with. With this, perseverance and character is built and we can learn a lot about ourselves!
As the next sign up period comes by, you are more than welcome to sign up for a different Life Group. May we remember that the body of Christ is full of different people and Jesus loves them all. We also encourage transparency in grace and truth when needed conversations arise, and discern if you need to reach out to Pastor Esteban for guidance at esteban@1bk.church.
We leave it up to each group to work out their own childcare as needs arise, but we do our best to give any resources we can offer. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap childcare with another family whose Life Group meets on a different evening. Please communicate to your Life Group leaders if you need childcare!

Women's Ministry
We exist to love God, love people, and invite women to follow Jesus. We hope to see women grow deeper in their relationship with each other and God through various groups, retreats, and events.
We have all kinds of Life Groups for women, where members study God’s Word, develop relationships with each other, and apply it to their lives! Sign-ups happen for these groups in August and January of every year and run for 11 weeks at a time.

Outreach groups are great for anyone to jump into any week and get connected right away! These groups vary from workout groups to moms trying to connect amidst a busy
schedule.
Support groups are a way to enter a community needed for a specific season of life. These groups walk with each other through different areas, such as addictions, living
life as a widow, or even the hurt of a wayward child.
All women are invited to join any fun events planned throughout the year, created for connection and encouragement. From worship nights to warm Christmas celebrations, we love to unite women! Stay tuned on Sundays, First Baptist Weekly Email, this section, or our events page for the next event.
Men's Ministry

Do you like fixing things and helping those in need? We have a group of men that are ready to step in to help a widow in our church, a family in need, or tackle a task that requires some muscle. If you would like to serve in this way, email esteban@1bk.church.
