AWANA

OUR MIDWEEK CHILDREN'S PROGRAM

On Wednesday nights from August to April, we have Awana Club.  Children age 3 through 6th grade spend the evening memorizing and reciting scripture, playing games, and hearing special talks that tie into that week’s theme.  Club begins at 6:20pm and ends at 8:00pm.

Awana is a Worldwide Organization that we partner with and there are additional registration fees to cover the price of uniforms and books for each clubber.  For more information about the larger Awana organization, please visit the link below.

CHILDCARE

NUSERY & TODDLER CARE

We provide childcare during each Sunday Worship Service. The nursery takes in the infants while the toddler room takes the 18 months to 3 years old. Parents can drop off their kids and enjoy the Worship Service, distraction free. Kids get snacks, clean daipers, and get to participate in various activities.

Childcare is also provided at most all-church events, such as business meetings and LIFT services.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School classes are offered for kids from Preschool through 6th Grade during the first Sunday Worship Service at 9:00am.  Bible truths are explored through reading, acting, drawing, singing, and more.  We dig deep into parts of the Bible where kids are introduced to new stories and people.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

OUR 2ND WORSHIP SERVICE'S OPTION FOR CHILDREN

During the second Worship Service, starting at 10:45am, children age 3 (and potty-trained) through 1st grade attend the beginning of the service with their parents and are dismissed prior to the sermon.  They gather in the lobby of the Sanctuary and head to the C.E. Building where they can participate in a Bible lesson, have a snack, and bring home a craft.

SPECIAL EVENTS

EVENTS AND TRIPS WE DO TOGETHER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

During the year, we go on different trips like Hume Lake Summer Camp, winter retreat. serving opportunities, guys & girls retreats and a lot of other unforgettable opportunities to grow as a follower of Jesus and connect your friends with who we are and what is going on in the student ministry at First Baptist.

SUMMER CAMP

HUME LAKE CHRISTIAN CAMPS

Every summer, we take our students to Hume Lake Christian Camp. It is a week where friendships are formed and deepened, where students encounter God in big ways and full of memories they will never forget!

Meadow Ranch (Jr. High)

They have an unforgettable week of fun, recreation, hilarious and engaging skits that tie in with the theme of the week, worship through music and age-appropriate and top-notch speakers that bring the Gospel to life.

Ponderosa (High School)

Pondy is an amazing camp that is high energy, filled with amazing times of fun, recreation, enjoying God's beautiful creation, making freinds, being encouraged by God's Word through Worship and great speakers and being led by adult counselors from our student ministry leaders or our church family.

Wildwood (High School)

Wildwood is scaled down (100 students vs. 1000 at Pondy) and it is located on the backside of Hume's Property and is more focused on growing students as more intentional disciples of Jesus. It is an amazingly fun week and the activities, talks, worship and challenges are all focused together to help students grow in areas of missions, church unity, spiritual disciplines and theology.  After going to Meadow Ranch and Pondy for a few years, many of our studnets crave something deeper and more intentional to help them grow in their walk with Jesus and a week at Wildwood is a perfect way to help them be equipped to grow when they go home.

MISSIONS & OUTREACH

SERVING IS A HUGE PART OF OUR DNA AS A CHURCH & IT'S NO DIFFERENT WITH OUR STUDENTS!

We serve with our students locally in the Central Valley, in California and internationally! Locally, we work with the Visalia Rescue Mission, The Poverello House and Fresno Rescue Mission. We also go to serve in urban areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco. Internationally, we have gone as a group to the Dominican Republic & Guatemala with Students International. Some of our students have gone overseas to Europe with Royal Servants for the summer. We love seeing the fruit of the seeds that are planted in those experiences in our students lives and the lives our students get to impact for the Gospel when they are serving!

COLLEGE

OUR COLLEGE-AGE MINISTRY IS FOR YOUNG ADULTS, AGE 18-24

We meet on Monday nights @ 6PM in the Washington House on the First Baptist campus (corner of Washington & Sierra). College is a time full of transition, challenge and new experiences. Our desire is that the College Ministry at FBC is to be a community for college-age (18-24) adults where they can learn, grow, lead and discover how to face the challenges of adulthood by applying scripture to their lives. We also love doing things together outside of your weekly group time. If you are college-age, we would love to get to know you!

ADULTS

GROWTH GROUPS

OUR IN-HOME SMALL GROUPS

We like to encourage everybody at First Baptist to be a part of a growth experience that takes place outside of Sunday morning.  Our effort to get people connected to other believers in home bible studies is called Growth Groups, or G2.  Like DFL, Growth Groups are gender specific.  They consist of anywhere from 4 to 8 people and study questions that are written to dig deeper into the passages, themes, or stories presented in the previous Sunday Morning Service's sermon.

Growth Groups meet in various locations, some on campus but mostly in local homes.  The studys are designed to build Christ centered connections and offer a way for people to deepen their own relationship with Jesus.

DISCIPLESHIP FOR LIFE GROUPS

AN OPPORTUNITY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT BEING A DISCIPLE OF JESUS IS TRULY ABOUT

At First Baptist we are committed to making disciples of Jesus.  We do that through what we call Discipleship For Life, or DFL.  Our DFL groups are a great way for followers of Jesus to learn, and put into practice, what it means to be a disciple.  Allowing a safe and comfortable environment while being challenged to grow in relationship with Jesus, DFL offers easy to follow curriculum.

DFL groups are gender specific and consist of 3 to 4 people. Discipleship For Life has a commitment of two six month courses.
